What Are You Into?

Some of my friends think I'm so into Indian food. They are actually right, and wrong. I am into India's vast assortment of spices into their curries and flat breads but, I am not only into Indian food alone. I am more of into, err, what's the term? World cuisine, perhaps!

Whenever possible, I like to get my hands (and mouth) into food that people from across the globe grew up with. I am particularly into food that I can hardly make in my own kitchen. Let me put it this way -- I want to explore and experience the world through food! That's why my friends think I'm weird. (But I'm pretty sure this is also one my traits that makes me an exciting companion when dining out!)

My uncle, my cousins and I had a wonderful lunch at Baluchi, an Indian restaurant in SoHo, New York. I flew there to celebrate Christmas with them. (Yep, that was many months ago! I was on a blogging hiatus, wasn't I?)

Top left is paneer or soft cheese that was deep fried, drizzled with tangy sauce and served on a bed of greens. Top right is the classic Chicken Korma, which is a kind of curry mixed with yogurt that makes it creamy and delicious. Below is the simple, rustic interiors of the restaurant.

Stand by. I will write more about my food trip in New York... soon!
